Spring Into Health 28 Day Challenge + Free ebook

This is TOO good not to share!

Lindsay S. Nixon at Happy Herbivore is hosting a 28-Day Spring Into Health challenge. (Sign-up here.) It includes a free copy of her ebook "Couch to 5K," daily tips, motivations, suggested activities, inspiring facts, and more.

This isn't just about food, but being happy, healthy and fulfilled - a total lifestyle upgrade. :)

Starts: Monday, April 28

My husband and I started subscribing to Lindsay's 7-day meal plans a month and a half ago. It has:

- Freed up my time
More time to write, high five! I used to spend hours planning the week's menu. Now all I do is print out the shopping list and away I go. More importantly, everything is quick and easy to make, satisfying and tasty.

- Taken out the Guess Work
Lindsay does the work of making sure we're getting the proper nutrition, amount of calories, and my favorite: Portion Control!

- Saved Money
The subscription paid for itself in the first week. Because I wasn't buying all the usual packaged goodies and frozen pizzas, I saved over $60 on my grocery bill.

- Rescued Us From a Food Rut
I love eating, it also feels like a chore too often. We're trying things I never would have made. There are times I'm thinking, "No way is Seb going to like this" (like the sesame kale and quinoa last night) and then he does!

Breakfast Rave!

At first I was skipping the breakfast part of the plan, going on autopilot with my cereal, toast, and tea. This week I started making them and OMG, it's like starting my day with dessert, which is The Best way to begin any day.

Check these out:

Apple Pie Oatmeal (so good I did it again the next day)
Blueberry Crisp (had this morning - could eat every morning for the rest of my life!)
Carrot Cake Breakfast Salad
Caramel Cream Smoothie
Breakfast Banana Split

Can I eat breakfast for dinner? ;-)

Will There Ever Be More Spellbound?

In April of last year something magical happened (in addition to Gray returning from the dead). With the publication of Enchantment, the Spellbound Trilogy was complete.
The Spellbound books, characters especially, were a complete joy to write and opened the door to new friendships with so many amazing authors and readers whom I now consider friends for life.
A question that comes up frequently is will readers ever see Gray, Adrian, Raj, Lee, and even Charlene, again?

I have toyed with the idea of a reunion story, but have no solid plans to continue. My focus right now is on the Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter series.

The best way to keep appraised of what's coming out, is to sign-up for one of my email alerts.

Witches are a hard sell. They don't have the gravitational pull of vampires, werewolves, and other paranormal heroes.

Time and again I hear from readers that they weren't expecting much from Spellbound and were surprised to find themselves falling in love (& hate) with the characters, laughing, yelling, and having an all-out good time. The greatest reward I've received from the trilogy is hearing that the books provided an "escape" for readers with busy, demanding lives.

What I'll say is this: If you loved the series, please tell all your reading friends about Spellbound.

And if you have an extra moment, post a review on Amazon, Goodreads, Apple, B&N, or Kobo.

TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES! Thank you for believing in Gray's story.

Aurora Sky Book 3 & 4 Release Dates

Aurora returns to Anchorage after a brutal six months of boot camp. At least Melcher has set her up in a house within close walking distance of the University of Alaska Anchorage (as you can see in the above google map).

Bad Blood, volume 3, is off for eight weeks of copy editing - releasing in ebook around June 3rd.

Hunting Season, volume 4, is in the works and slated for a September 2nd release. It is now listed on Goodreads.

Don't miss these releases, sign up on my email alert list.

And now a tasty teaser from Bad Blood for all you Dante lovers. ;-)
Dante slid my dress up to my thighs. The cool air instantly prickled my legs. They dangled out of the car. One of my flip flops slipped off. Dante stepped in between my thighs and wrapped them around his torso. Once I squeezed his waist between my limbs, he let go of my legs and went for his zipper.
My heart beat like a jackhammer inside my chest. I felt like I was trapped in a dream waiting for someone to scream, “Wake up, Aurora!”
My breath quickened. Liquid fire swarmed my open legs. Everything felt hazy and provocative. The voice of reason had run for cover knowing it was no match for Dante’s need to ravish me or my own desire to be taken in a fit of passion strong enough to cause volcanoes to erupt.
I had definitely been in the desert too long.
This was Dante. Goofy guy Dante: talks with his mouth full and makes immature innuendos. At the moment he was Dante: rock solid He-Man with fingers meant only for caressing every inch of my body.
There was nothing to stop us. We were both diseased, sterile—we had no life to give, only that to take, experience, and savor.
Find out what happens next this June! And never fear, Team Fane, I didn't forget about you. The dark prince returns. I don't want to give too much away.

Lichgates (Grimoire Saga #1)

Kara Magari is about to discover a beautiful world full of terrifying things—Ourea.

Kara, a college student still reeling from her mother’s recent death, has no idea the hidden world of Ourea even exists until a freak storm traps her in a sunken library. With no way out, she opens an ancient book of magic called the Grimoire and unwittingly becomes its master, which means Kara now wields the cursed book’s untamed power. Discovered by Ourea’s royalty, she becomes an unwilling pawn in a generations-old conflict—a war intensified by her arrival. In this world of chilling creatures and betrayal, Kara shouldn’t trust anyone… but she’s being hunted and can’t survive on her own. She drops her guard when Braeden, a native soldier with a dark secret, vows to keep her safe. And though she doesn’t know it, her growing attraction to him may just be her undoing.

For twelve years, Braeden Drakonin has lived a lie. The Grimoire is his one chance at redemption, and it lands in his lap when Kara Magari comes into his life. Though he begins to care for this human girl, there is something he wants more. He wants the Grimoire.

Welcome to Ourea, where only the cunning survive.

Treason (Grimoire Saga #2)

Kara Magari ignited a war when she stumbled into Ourea and found the Grimoire: a powerful artifact filled with secrets. To protect the one person she has left, she strikes a deal that goes against everything she believes in. But things don’t go as planned.

Braeden Drakonin can no longer run from who—and what—he is. He has to face the facts. He’s a prince. He’s a murderer. He’s a wanted man. And after a betrayal that leaves him heartbroken, he’s out for blood.

To survive, both Kara and Braeden must become the evil each has grown to hate.

Heritage (Grimoire Saga #3)
Kara Magari isn’t normal, even by Ourea’s standards—and in a world of shape-shifters and soul stealers, that’s saying something. To the royalty, she’s a loose cannon. To the masses, she’s a failure. But Kara’s arrival in Ourea started a war, and she’s going to end it.
An ancient isen named Stone takes an interest in Kara’s training, and it turns out he has more answers than he originally led her to believe. In an effort to unearth a secret that might end the bloodshed, Kara instead discovers an ugly truth about her family—and how much she has in common with an infamous mass-murderer.
Braeden Drakonin has slowly rebuilt his life after the betrayal that tore it apart. His father wants him dead, and frankly, his so-called allies wouldn’t mind that either. Private alliances are formed. Secrets are sold. Tension is driving the armies apart. A single battle will end this war, and it’s coming. Braeden may be a prince, but it will take more than that to survive. He must take the fight to his father’s door—and win.
Illusion (Grimoire Saga #4)
The final chapter in the war for Ourea ends with blood.
Kara Magari is an icon. A hero. The people love her. The royalty tolerates her. She has everything—an army, allies, and a close circle of chosen family. They believe she will end the war, and they shouldn’t. She’s as scared as they are. She just can’t show it.
The war she accidentally started ends with a final battle that will either save or enslave her people. She will do anything to win—until she learns the cost of victory.
Braeden Drakonin is afraid of what he’ll become when he takes over his father’s kingdom—that much authority can change a man. But his father has already tried to kill him more than once, and it’s time to end his reign. Braeden’s armies are ready. His strategy is foolproof. His gener als are waiting for the order to attack. It’s only in the final seconds before the battle begins that he realizes he missed one crucial detail—the traitor.
