Crazy, Stupid Love NA Giveaway Hop

New Adult is quickly becoming my favorite genre. I love fiction that's dark and edgy.

As a reader - Karina Halle's Experiment in Terror series is the best thing since sliced bread and I can't wait to read more books like this. If you haven't checked out EiT, book one, Darkhouse, is FREE wherever eBooks are sold.

As a writer - While working on the Spellbound Trilogy, I felt caught somewhere between YA and Adult. After several readers emailed to complain about some of the racier scenes, I ended up toning down a couple of these before realizing I didn't want to tone it down. When I started my new series Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter I decided from the get go I'd write the way I wanted...awkward sex scenes and all.

There's a wonderful article titled "The New Adult Wave" by Michelle Leighton posted this week during IndieRecon that I recommend checking out.

Long live NA and thanks to Talk Supe!

  4. Yes! I totally get what you're saying - I knew I'd be knocking out a whole group of readers that I could market to by including detailed sex scenes, but the story needed it. Which is why I'm SO happy for this New Adult Wave. Thanks for the link to the article.
