Once she opens it, she's thrown into Ourea: a beautiful world full of terrifying beings that all want the Grimoire's secrets. Everyone in this new world is trying to find her, but most just want to control the new-found power the Grimoire bestows upon her.
Braeden Drakonin grew up in Ourea, and all he’s ever known in life is lying. The Grimoire is his one chance at redemption, and it lands in his lap when Kara Magari comes into his life. Birthday and Vacation!

Headed out with Seb and Cosmo on a long overdo road trip/vacation.

I picked vacation rentals with hot tubs cause this summer was killer - standing on concrete packing wholesale, web, and store orders. Busted my butt I'll tell you what.

The Plan: Read, Relax, Hike, Sip Wine - Repeat!

We won't have Internet access for the first part of our trip and that's fine by me.

Next week I turn 35 (September 27th) and this year we're spending it with good friends eating good food - unlike last year. Bla!

I'm excited to finish beta reading and critiquing Treason, book two in the Grimoire Trilogy by my new BF S.M. Boyce. (This woman has serious talent!) Check out this scene from Treason.

And I hope to work on Enchantment (Spellbound #3) a little - even though Boyce told me to TAKE A BREAK. :) I'll play it by ear.

New Series Announcement

Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter (Vol. 1, Transfusion)
a new YA paranormal series by Nikki Jefford

Releases this Winter Holiday Season 2012

Cover Reveal - Monday, September 17th

Her blood is toxic to vampires.

If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it’s to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn’t hurt either.

Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Secret agents step in and save Aurora’s life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter. In Alaska.

Basically she’s a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type, which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis right before she has to finish the job… by hand.

Aurora is alienating friends at school while attracting attention from the last person she wants noticing her – the dark prince of temptation himself: Fane Donado. And that can’t lead to anything good.

ADD it to your Goodreads TBR pile.

Vaempires: Zombie Rising Cover Reveal

I'm very excited that author Thomas Winship offered me the chance to do a cover reveal for the next installment of his action-packed, page-turner of a series: Vaempires. See my review in pictures here of book one, Revolution, and a guest post from Tom about writing cinematic scenes. Got sugar? Will write!

I love getting insider info. The scoop is that there was a lot of back and forth and agonizing over this cover. Funny how that can happen.

I have to say, I think it's a total grabber. I love the colors, the creepy zombie hands inside the eye, the fonts, and effects. I think it matches the series nicely.

So check it:

Væmpires: Zombie Rising

The tale of The Evolutionary War resumes in Væmpires: Zombie Rising.

Væmpires have taken control of twelve major cities. Their leader, Vielyn, seeks the atomic weapons that will bring the rest of the world to its knees.

Vampire forces are reeling. As Linq and Ray race to the royal estate to rendezvous with Cassandra and Daniel … the princess is captured and Daniel falls.

With the fate of world shifting to their teenage shoulders, Linq and Ray must deal with tremendous losses while battling a most unexpected—and undeadly—new foe.

Thomas Winship
Thomas Winship lives in New York. He holds an MBA in Management from St. Thomas Aquinas College, where he serves as MBA Director and adjunct professor of courses in English Composition, Communications, and Business. He also spent fifteen years working for a global pharmaceutical company, specializing in organizational development, talent management, and training.

Tom writes in his spare time. His first novel, a mystery/legal thriller entitled Temporary Insanity (a.k.a. Case Closed), was a 2008 finalist in a national contest but failed to garner industry attention. He published Vaempires: Revolution last October and a follow-up novella, Vaempires: White Christmas, in December. He is currently working on the next installment of the Vaempires series.

Tom is an avid collector of books, comic books, music, and movies. His interests are diverse—on any given day, Tom is likely to be found watching a horror movie, attending a hard rock concert, or enjoying a Broadway show.
